The beginning of the new year and the time to make New Years resolutions.
The celebration of the New Year is the oldest of all holidays. It was first observed in ancient Babylon about 4000 years ago. The first of January was dedicated by the Romans to their God of Gates and Doors,Janus. A very old Italian God, Janus has a distinctive artistic appearance in that he is commonly depicted with two faces … one regarding what is behind and the other looking toward what lies ahead.
Ancient Egyptians originally celebrated the New Year with the Feast of Opet around the middle of June, which was when the Nile River usually overflowed its banks. Consequently, people were unable to work and would be free to take part in the festivities. Statues of the God, Amon, together with effigies of his wife and son, would be taken by boat down the Nile from Karnak to Luxor, where the people would sing, dance and feast for a 24 days before transporting the statues back to the temple. Phoenicians and Persians proclaimed the beginning of the New Year on the Autumnal Equinox (September 22nd).

Paranormal Activity hist rank 2 in Box Office next to MJ’s “This Is It”. The movie was pretty creepy, eerie, weird and it freaks me out. I started watching the movie few days ago but my sister quit watching so did i. But then i continued everything i started and watch it this afternoon. I don’t know what made me think of that. Maybe it was all because my sister was at the same room sleeping. (shame!) I have spent enough time reading the reviews for this movie and found out that the majority of people commenting are against it. Some people are bias and thought that it was “boring” and a “waste of time”, well you should have thought twice before “wasting your time”. If some people find this movie “boring”, how on earth it rank 2nd in Box Office? so doesn’t make any sense at all. The point of this movie was not to scare the crap out of people using insane visual effects and an awesome twist thrown in the end with a huge battle between the main character and the forces of evil. Most of todays horror films follow that very style. These are the films that take a maturity level of about 3 years to find enjoyable. A movie like Paranormal Activity brings about a different, more realistic enemy. Be honest, how many of you have seen a real demon with horns and a pitchfork. The idea is not frightening at all but the idea of a creature lurking in the dark that takes advantage of your weakest state, in bed. The haunting stories of today involve sounds, movement and eire feelings when people think that something is wrong.

So the story started when Katie and Micah (the actors use their real names in the film) moves into their house they become increasingly disturbed by a presence that may or may not be demonic, but is certainly most active in the middle of the night.
